What We're Playing โ€” June 2026

Published June 2026 ยท By Team Sinigang

Every month we write up what's actually in the controller โ€” not the games we're supposed to be playing, not the games we're reviewing, but what we genuinely can't put down when we sit at the desk after hours. June has been a heavy one.

๐Ÿ—ก๏ธ The Game Taking Over Everything: Crimson Desert

We're not exaggerating when we say Crimson Desert has consumed the studio. Pearl Abyss dropped what might be the most ambitious open-world RPG since Red Dead Redemption 2, and none of us were fully prepared for how good it actually is.

Who's playing: Everyone, constantly

The map is enormous โ€” we're around 40 hours in and still finding new areas. The combat clicked around the 8-hour mark after we finally got comfortable with the block and counter timing. Chapter 4 opened up an entirely new region last week and we've barely scratched it. We wrote a full guide โ€” check it out here.

๐ŸŒ™ Late Nights with Nightreign

Nightreign co-op nights got revived this month after a brief hiatus. We're running evening sessions a couple of times a week โ€” usually 2โ€“3 expeditions before it gets too late. The beautiful thing about Nightreign is exactly that: a 45-minute run has a beginning, middle, and end.

๐ŸŒ™ Elden Ring: Nightreign
Who's playing: The whole squad, Tuesday and Thursday nights

We're deep into unlocking Remembrance questlines for multiple Nightfarers. The Executor's counter-mechanic finally clicked for one of us this month โ€” watching him parry a Nightlord attack and immediately chain into an Ultimate Art was one of the best gaming moments we've had this year. Full guide here if you're just getting started.

๐ŸŒพ Someone Finally Started Stardew Valley

One person on the team held out for two years. We're not going to name names. But this month, they started Stardew Valley for the first time, and the messages we've been getting are exactly what you'd expect: "I forgot to sleep," "I missed the Egg Festival," "why didn't you tell me about the Traveling Cart."

๐ŸŒพ Stardew Valley
Who's playing: One extremely late adopter on his first playthrough

He's in Year 1, Spring 20. He did not plant strawberries at the Egg Festival because he didn't know what the Egg Festival was. We are helping him process this. Our full guide is here for anyone else starting fresh.

โšฑ๏ธ The Eternal Background Game: Elden Ring

There's always someone running Elden Ring. At this point it's a permanent fixture โ€” somebody is always doing a new build, helping a friend through a boss, or just wandering Limgrave at midnight. It never fully leaves the rotation. This month's project: a pure Strength build that two-hands a Giant-Crusher. Our complete guide covers everything if you're new or revisiting.

๐ŸŽฎ Our Own Games

Development on a new browser game is underway โ€” not ready to say much yet, but it's the most technically ambitious thing we've built. We also pushed a small update to Save the Universe that tweaks the black hole spawn timing on Level 8, which was genuinely unfair before. It's better now.

Dungeon of the Ancients 3D also got some attention this month โ€” we're playtesting the boss room encounters and they're almost exactly where we want them. News soon.

๐Ÿฒ What We're Cooking

June called for Sinigang sa Miso. The miso twist on the classic tamarind broth is perfect for rainy-season cooking โ€” it adds a depth that the straight tamarind version doesn't quite have. If you haven't tried it, the recipe is on the site. Use bangus if you can get it. Salmon belly works too and is easier to find outside of the Philippines.

The pot keeps simmering. ๐Ÿฒ
