What We're Playing — August & September 2026

August–September 2026 · Posted October 2026 · By Team Sinigang

We're combining these two months for an honest reason: they were the same month twice. After a July spent at Walt Disney World, August and September belonged to one game, Diablo IV, with one eye on the calendar for GTA 6.

👿 Two Months of Paladin

Once the 8-year-old is down for the night, it's been Diablo, usually an hour or two at a time. The Paladin was the draw. It's a class we've loved since tabletop D&D, and Lord of Hatred finally brought it to Diablo IV. Running the Disciple Oath, with hammers flying, wings striking, and Consecration underfoot, turned "one more dungeon" into a nightly habit.

🏆 The Milestones, According to Steam

Steam keeps receipts, so here's what the end of September looked like:

📅 September 24

A big night. We finished the Lord of Hatred campaign (an achievement only about 13% of Steam players have), reached level 50, and passed 666 snakes and spiders killed. Arachnophobes, you're welcome.

📅 September 25

The next night: 666 bandits, cultists, and knights down. The Paladin does not take requests for mercy.

That brought our total to over 116 hours. If you want the build behind it, it's all in our Diablo IV guide, along with a screenshot of the Steam record.

🌴 Eyes on GTA 6

The whole time, GTA 6 has been sitting on the horizon. It's the one release we're watching closely. With an 8-year-old in the house, though, it'll be an after-bedtime game when it arrives. More on that in our October roundup.

The pot keeps simmering. 🍲
